1. Disable Windows Automatic updates:
Open Control Panel from your Start screen or right click on the Start button to select Control Panel, then navigate to “System and Security > Windows Update ” now from the left pane, click on ‘Change Settings’ and choose ‘Never check for updates (not recommended)’ from the drop down menu. Press OK and you have successfully disabled Automatic updates of windows 8.1.

Now click on ‘Administrative Templates’ which is under ‘Computer Configuration’ and then you will see some options at the right side pane. Now navigate to ‘Network > QoS Packet Scheduler > Limit reservable bandwidth.
Double click on ‘Limit reservable bandwidth’ and a popup window will open. Now select Enabled and replace 80 with 0 in the Bandwidth limit (%) box. Press OK to save your settings.

Local Group Policy Editor isn’t available on some Windows 8.1 versions. So, if you are running one of them, you should follow this method to gain your full internet speed.

Open Run and type ‘services.msc’ (without the quotation marks) and hit enter to open Services now set the following services to manual. Right click on the services and open properties then change ‘Startup type’ to Manual.

#Some other tips to keep your internet speed as fast as possible:
Reset WinSock: Whenever you get some time, Reset WinSock to boost up your internet speed. Right Click on the start menu or press ‘Windows key + x’ to open Windows Tools Menu and select ‘Command Prompt (Admin)’
Now type ‘netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt’ (without the quotation marks) to reset WinSock.
Restart your computer and you have done it!
